Tattoo Shop Reviews Cheyenne Sol Nova Tattoo Machine | Review, Setup & Unboxing
We unbox, set-up and review the Cheyenne Sol Nova tattoo machine and talk you through its features.
The Sol Nova is the brand new pen-style rotary from Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Equipment and it’s now in stock and available to order from Killer Ink Tattoo!
Cheyenne’s new Sol Nova is extremely powerful, yet gentle on the skin. It packs a punch, but still runs softly and smoothly.
The weight of the Sol Nova is shifted to the front, allowing for optimum control and accuracy.
A great all-round machine, the Cheyenne Sol Nova has a 3.5mm stroke length, making it ideal for precise lining, as well as soft shading.
You can run the Sol Nova between 25 and 150 hertz: the low frequency operation makes it great for dotwork and colour realism. Simply turn it up higher for fuller and more intense lines.
The Sol Nova is also extremely easy to wrap for hygiene purposes.

Hey guys, Liam from Killer Ink here, and today we’re going to be showing you the new Cheyenne Sol Nova.
The Sol Nova is the brand-new pen-style rotary from Cheyenne that is set to shake up the tattoo market.
So let’s take a closer look…
Just like with the Cheyenne HAWK Pen, the Sol Nova has an ergonomic, pen-like shape. Compared to the Pen, however, the Sol Nova boasts more power and softer handling.
This durable and robust, yet lightweight machine has perfect balance, with its weight shifted to the front. This allows for optimum control and accuracy.
The powerful brushless DC motor packs a punch, resulting in faster ink saturation – although its quiet and soft operational mode means that it remains gentle on the skin, allowing for a faster healing process.
The Cheyenne Sol Nova is a great all-round rotary machine. Featuring a 3.5mm stroke, it is ideal for precise lining, as well as soft shading.
Cheyenne’s latest machine operates between 25 and 150 hertz. The low frequency operation with 25 hertz makes it great for dotwork and colour realism, while you just need to turn it up higher for fuller and more intense lines.
As with the HAWK Pen, the shape of the Sol Nova makes it extremely easy to wrap for hygiene purposes.
The Sol Nova can be used with the included 33mm grip or with Cheyenne’s Disposable Round and One Inch D-Grips. By twisting the grip, you can adjust the needle depth up to 4.0mm.
You can use cartridges from any of the major brands with the Sol Nova, including Cheyenne’s own Safety and Craft Cartridges.
The new Cheyenne Sol Nova is available to order now from Killer Ink Tattoo via the link in the description below.
