Hey guys, Liam from Killer Ink here, and today we’re going to be taking a look at a new pen-style rotary on the market, the EGO Switch.
The Switch is EGO’s long-awaited pen-style rotary tattoo machine and the world’s first machine to feature an in-built on/off switch.
So let’s take a look at what it has to offer…
The EGO Switch is a cartridge-dedicated rotary machine that is lightweight, reliable, consistent and quiet.
It features an exceptional ergonomic design, with a 28mm diameter that fits into your hand well and feels great when tattooing.
Powered by a precision Japanese-made motor, the EGO Switch is super smooth and super powerful, offering a 3.5 mm throw.
It also has an RCA connection at this end, so you can take advantage of another new EGO product, the Micro-Lite RCA cord, or whichever other RCA cord takes your preference.
The Switch measures 118 mm in length from tip to tip and weighs in at just 142 grams. It has an anti-roll design which will stop it from rolling off your workstation.
The EGO Switch has two modes. Mode one is constant power on, meaning that you control the power of the machine via your power supply with a foot switch, like so…
Mode two is the new Switch mode, which allows you to turn the power on and off via the switch at the top of the machine, which is a world first. One press engages the power, and it will stay on until the switch is pressed again.
Switch mode allows artists to quickly and easily control the running of their machine and also means that you won’t need a foot pedal while using the machine in this mode.
The EGO Switch is compatible with cartridges from all the major brands. To adjust the cartridge needles, rotate the bottom part of the machines body to the right or left until the desired needle depth is reached.
If the body is turned too far, the shell will come off. If this happens, simply screw the body back in place.
Created and designed by tattoo artist Bez from Triple Six Studios in Sunderland, UK, the EGO Switch is a brilliant and unique pen-style rotary that offers something a little bit different.
The EGO Switch is available in various colours and can be ordered from Killer Ink via the link in the description below.
